Two afternoons of stories among the sculptures.

Looking back on the two Partir en livre sessions, when the park became a literary playground.

On Friday 10 and Friday 17 July, the museum took part in Partir en livre, the national children's book festival, on the theme of heroes great and small.

For two afternoons, the books looked as though they were growing in the trees. There were tales read in the shade, kamishibai sessions, the Japanese picture theatre in which the story moves on board by board, origami cranes folded by the dozen, an introduction to calligraphy, and a sculpture workshop where everyone modelled a hero of their own.

Watching children look for a hero in a park that already holds a hundred and fifty of them in bronze felt about right. Thank you to the families who came, and to those who ran the workshops.
